Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to the Yorke Mead Primary School website and thank you for your interest in our school.

I hope this website will give you a clear idea of our vision, aims and values and how we aim to achieve these.

Yorke Mead is a very happy school where every child is valued and where all of our children are cared for and encouraged. We value everyone’s successes, both in school and in the wider community.

Developing confidence, motivation and independent learning skills is essential in the primary school years and, as a teacher and a head teacher, this has always been extremely important to me. It is these things that will enable children to succeed in their life academically, personally and socially.

At Yorke Mead we also place a great focus on ensuring our children grow and develop into healthy children. Supporting children to develop practices that enable them to develop and stay healthy, emotionally as well as physically, is of high importance to us. The work we do is very much focused around developing the whole child.

“Bringing learning to life” is our school motto. We believe in the importance of placing emphasis on achieving high standards in literacy and numeracy whilst also ensuring the children experience a broad, rich and varied curriculum.  The children at Yorke Mead are enthusiastic learners. We strive to make activities challenging, engaging and fun; children love to learn!
