Key Stage 2
Children enter Key Stage Two at Year 3 and remain there until Year 6. Learning is more formal now and children engage in more recorded and written work, although new learning still build from a practical approach.
Learning will still be approached actively using a creative curriculum approach and through topics, though there will be some discrete subject teaching to ensure full coverage of the National Curriculum. Children still have lots of opportunity to learn through active approaches such as drama, role play and problem solving.
As children enter Year 3 French becomes a formal part of the school curriculum.
